The institute of preparation for general administration

Founded in 1963, the Institut de Préparation à l'Administration Générale (IPAG) was first directed by Pierre di MALTA, Senior Lecturer in Public Law. Following its takeover by Professor Éric de MARI in 2002, the IPAG was completely reorganized, enabling it to take off and reach a high level. Since 2010, IPAG Montpellier has seen a further expansion in both its success rate and the diversity of courses on offer. In 2013, the courses were opened up to public service apprenticeships. On January 27, 2020, Nicolas Marty was elected Director of IPAG Montpellier for a 5-year term.

All courses are supervised by experienced professionals such as senior civil servants, regional directors (Mr Bernard DELHOUME) and renowned academics (Mr Nicolas MARTY), not forgetting teachers from "classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles" (Mrs Anne DAVID). This teamwork is carried out by around a hundred people (see team page).

With an exam success rate of over 75%, and a special training program where students are personally supervised, IPAG Montpellier is one of France's leading competitive entrance exam preparation centers.

IPAG is the smallest component of the University of Montpellier, with just 200 students. However, IPAG's performance is measured by its results, with 3 out of 4 students graduating from the A or B competitive entrance exams. The number 1 objective here is professional integration.
