Artificial intelligence, new recruitment practices, changing careers and skills: How can you prepare and successfully enter the job market?

The world of work is changing rapidly as a result of artificial intelligence, the transformation of jobs, and new expectations from employers. How do these changes affect recruitment? And, most importantly, how can students prepare for them?

The purpose of this roundtable discussion is to help students better understand the changes taking place in the world of work and in recruitment practices so that they can anticipate the skills that will be expected of them and effectively prepare for their entry into the job market.

The Doctorate: An Experience, Different Pathways, Career Opportunities

What is a Ph.D. actually like? Why pursue a dissertation? And what are the career prospects afterward?

Co-organized with the Doctoral College of the University of Montpellier, this roundtable discussion will feature doctoral students and PhD holders from various fields, who will share their journeys and experiences.

Through these testimonials, get an inside look at the doctoral experience: the daily life of a doctoral student, working conditions, types of contracts and funding, motivations, skills developed, and the realities of writing a dissertation.

The roundtable discussion will also explore career opportunities after earning a doctorate, both in academic research and in other sectors, drawing in particular on career placement data from OSIPE—the Observatory for the Monitoring and Career Placement of Students at the University of Montpellier.

A chance to ask questions and gain a better understanding of what a Ph.D. can offer you—during your dissertation… and beyond.
